Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress, who is employed in the fields of film, television and theatre. The most famous of her roles is Teri Joe, a fiery lawyer on the Showtime program Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name after her wedding. She was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland. Contractor Born in Mumbai in India and grew up in Nigeria through the age of seven. She'd been exposed to numerous travel experiences and different cultures at a very young age. She went to boarding school from the age of 7 until 9 in London. Then, she and her family relocated home to Toronto (Canada) which is where they were raised for her entire life. She earned a master's degree in theater and double majored in psychology and social science. Contractor was cast in her first show following her first year at university. The show she played in 92 performances earned praise from Canadian reviewers.
